Adriano Cirulli, PhD in Sociology of Culture and Political Processes, is Research Fellow (RTD-A) in the Department of Mathematics, Computer Science and Physics at the University of Udine, Italy. He has carried out teaching and research activity at the Universities of Rome La Sapienza, Uninettuno, Link Campus, Milano-Bicocca, Autonomous University of Barcelona, Edinburgh and Bilbao. His main research topics are: Urban Transformations, Urban Movements and Conflicts, Urban Social Innovation, Political Participation, Contentious Politics, Ethnonationalism, Popu-lism. He has taught courses at undergraduate and postgraduate level on New Media Languages, Territorial and Urban Sociology, General and Political Sociology. He is member of the Editorial Board of the scientific journals Partecipazione e Conlfitto and Nazioni e Regioni – Studi e ricerche sulla comunità immaginata, and member of the Observatory on the Global City of the S. Pio V. Institute for Political Studies, Rome, Italy.
